Victoria Mann

Dietitian

Victoria Mann is a Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer with over 7 years full time NHS experience helping people to lose weight, increase their muscle mass, recover from illness and surgery and generally feel better. She graduated with a Masters in Dietetics from King’s College London in 2011. Victoria has always been fascinated by the impact diet can have on health and wellbeing and how nutrition links into the bigger picture of both physical and mental health.

Since graduating she has gained a wide variety of expertise. She started her career in Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Here she gained a vast array of experience in the medical nutritional therapy of various diseases including heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, cancer and diabetes. She spent time working in the Weight Management & Bariatric surgery team working with both groups and individuals aiming to lose weight and improve their health.

She then moved back to Oxford and specialised in Bariatric Surgery and Upper GI Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She has a wide range of experience in both cancerous and benign conditions. She then took an interest in Hepatobiliary conditions such as Pancreatitis, Pancreatic Cancer and diseases of the liver and biliary tract and moved into a Macmillan post as an Advanced Hepatobiliary Dietitian. She also worked closely with Diabetes UK and has written patient information on the management of Type 3c diabetes in pancreatic disease.

Victoria has spoken at international conferences on the importance of nutrition in Pancreatic Cancer and the Dietetic management of Type 3c diabetes. She was also a 2018 Macmillan Professional Awards finalist for her work in developing the service in Oxford.

Her passion is now for the management of both health and disease through good food and nutrition. Many people have a complex relationship with food, we eat for many reasons far beyond just the nutrition the food gives us. Food is such a big part of our lives and therefore the management of diet can be complex. Change can be hard but with Victoria’s skills in behaviour change techniques and extensive knowledge regarding therapeutic diets she will be able to guide you through making sustainable, lifelong changes to better your health.

So many medical conditions can be improved through simple dietary changes however that support is often not available. Achieving the best possible diet for that individual really can produce excellent results and alongside physical activity and lifestyle changes people thrive. Victoria takes a huge amount of pleasure in seeing her clients improve and learn to use food as their aid.
